We are a new club just forming with the goal of becoming a 501c3 Educational Foundation. The board is currently working on paperwork with both the State and Federal for this more to come soon. Since we are not the traditional Social Club and non-equity. We do not have a Safety officer or Maintenance officer, all PIC's are responsible to verify the flight readiness of the aircraft. Below is the current board once we get everything rolling we hope that others will enjoy a turn leading with this unique flying club.
A group of pilots, based out of the Rusty Allen Airport, saw a need to promote affordable aviation in the Central Texas area. Thus the Lago Vista Flying Club was born. Our aim is to pass on our love for flying to the next generation of pilots.
Meet the Team
Come out and meet us and find out what our little club in the hill country is all about. Pancake Breakfast / Fly-in every 4th Saturday of the month*.
A private pilot since 1991, I always had the aviation bug since I was given a free flight while I was in middle school. I am the proud owner of a Piper Cherokee 140 that I use as a club aircraft. My second act as an aircraft owner. I look forward to helping the next genertion of pilot.
I have been flying since I was young, my father introduced me to aviation. We moved up to Lago Vista and found a hanger that is now our home. I decided to get things rolling again and try to increase the number of pilots. I hope you come and share our love of flying and keep learning.
Owner of two of the club aircraft and a licensed pilot since 1985, Don has a passion for aviation with a pedigree to match. Father an Air Force fighter pilot and brother a commercial airline pilot, he grew up flying his families Bonanza and enjoys passing on his love of aviation.
Private Pilot with over 31 years as a pilot not counting years wanting to be a pilot. Got back into aviation 6 years ago after 15 year break to help build a family. I want to share my passion of aviation with others and believe this this club will do just that.
